“I’m not creative” is one of the biggest lies I’ve ever heard. This far too common phrase is often announced by individuals who restrain themselves from unleashing their true imaginative talents. It’s not their fault that they believe they lack creativity, but more so the fault of a culture that influences people to constantly weigh their own abilities against others.
In the 3rd grade I learned about demoralization when my teacher shredded the loose-leaf sheet of paper I had decorated in doodles. In the 5th grade I was told that my math homework would not be graded until I removed the characters I drew explaining the Pythagorean theorem.
As we move on to the latter half of June, Sweeney remains consistently busy with tons of amazing work, especially within the creative department. Taking a quick breather, we are continuing our team highlights by sitting down with our newest member to creative, Olivia Hiles and getting to know a little more about what makes her awesome.
Graduation. It’s the exciting, exhilarating end of a rewarding chapter that can sometimes lead to the scary, intimidating unknown of what’s next. This year, it’s estimated that more than two million students will be throwing up their caps and heading into the professional world.
After being honored with Public Relations Society of America’s “Rising Star” award we sat down with digital marketing manager Rachel Dill to reflect on her career up to this point. As a member of PRSSA, a student chapter, when attending The Ohio State University, the organization helped her determine what career path she wanted to embark on.

For graphic design students in their final semester this means preparing portfolios, developing an individual brand and honing interview skills.

Ahh… Spring Break. That random week-long gap between New Years and Easter is upon us – and by us, I mean you, college students. This hiatus that breaks up the second semester offers the chance to fill up your calendar with all sorts of activities, from a few extra work shifts to a trip to Fort Lauderdale to a Netflix marathon on your parent’s couch.
