Client Spotlight: Cleveland Animal Protective League

Team Sweeney is all for adopting animals in need of furever homes. It’s a passion that is close to our hearts. Many of my colleagues have adopted pets of their own and after recently welcoming a new cat into my family, I’m happy we can connect the dots to our client, the Cleveland APL (Animal Protective League), and the award-winning marketing work we have executed for the organization for a decade.

‘My Cleveland APL’ campaign

In 2021, the Cleveland APL set out to create an outdoor advertising campaign that showcased to the community the many life-saving programs and services the organization offers to Northeast Ohio’s animals, such as humane investigation and foster care. Sweeney produced a marketing campaign that depicted the human-animal bond, whether that’s a connection of a vet caring for a patient or a new pet mom playing with her puppy.

Results that will have your tail wagging

The agency’s services for the outdoor advertising campaign included creative strategy, media strategy and buying, photography, videography, and graphic design. Featuring Cleveland APL staff, volunteers, adopters, and animals the results are authentic. The campaign offers storytelling that markets to emotion, truly identifying with the Cleveland APL’s target audience – the local animal lover looking help to animals in need.

A little more about the design… The visuals are approachable and heartwarming. Pops of purple throughout each design support Cleveland APL’s brand recognition. Combined with simple, straightforward typography, each composition emphasizes Cleveland APL’s commitment to our furry friends.

Brace yourself for… awww!
