Brand Identity and Website
Situation
The Lunar Geographical Society, in the grand tradition ode to storied international geographical societies, is a newly formed membership-based organization whose mission is to inspire future generations through the support of expeditions and the stewardship of geographic information.
As the Lunar Geographical Society’s leadership team prepared to launch this new endeavor, it challenged Sweeney to develop a brand identity and a foundational website in time for a critical and looming deadline.

Following best practices, the agency team conducted multiple interviews with key stakeholders and reviewed countless documents outlining the goals ad purpose of the new Lunar Geographical Society.
Brand brief
Leveraging the data gathered from the Society leadership team, the agency developed a functioning brand brief that identifies the organization’s, mission, vision, values, position and unique selling proposition, establishing a foundation for the development of future content in support of future communication and marketing efforts.
Logo design
Working around the clock, Sweeney’s brand and creative teams developed a family of concepts that reflected the gravitas of established geographical societies, but also the modern sensibility of a space-focused organization. With the constant engagement of the client leadership team, a brand identity was advanced, including a word mark and emblem, color palette, typography basic application guidelines.
Website design and development
Building on the brand brief and logo design, Sweeney developed a foundational three-page website that introduces the new society and established a private log in for special missions tied to future space expeditions. In addition to the overall design of the site, the agency developed all content and secured images from NASA JPL and Caltech.
Results
Despite the intensive timeline, Sweeney delivered a new brand logo, brand messaging and a foundational website in less than 10 days. As a result, the Lunar Geographical Society was able to meet its critical deadline and unveil its new identity and website to prospective collaborators and supporters.
