Facebook Page Layout Changes: What’s New?

If you haven’t already, it’s time to changeover your Facebook brand/company pages to the new layout. Beginning June 13, all pages will automatically change to the new layout. The changes are not drastic, but do require some tweaking here and there to make sure the transition is seamless for your followers.

Single-column timeline format

  • Single column RIGHT side of page – displays posts
  • Single column LEFT side of page – displays info about business, photos and videos

Important info is now front and center

Only two tabs will show after “about” section (i.e. photos and videos)

  • Currently 4 are visible

Larger photos will appear in timeline

  • Mobile friendly
  • Easier scrolling user experience

Wider page posts

  • Increase from 403 pixels to 511 pixels

New position for: ‘Like’ button, follow, share and apps

  • Like, follow and share now appear on cover page
  • Apps now appear below page information on the left

Cover photo now appears in all tabs

Besides prepping pages for the changes followers will experience, there are some new tools that page admins can use to help manage pages:

New “This Week” monitoring feature

  • Admins can view information about ads, new likes, post reach, unread notifications and messages on any page
  • New navigation options available at the top of the page
  • See relevant details about pages on main page, more details in insights tab

New “Pages to Watch” monitoring feature

  • Create a list of competitor pages to compare performance
  • See key stats about these pages and the past week’s most engaging posts
