My colleague and I were able to attend the annual Cucalorus Connect Conference held right here in our own city of Wilmington, North Carolina. And, as you may have already guessed, the conference was all about connections. Specifically, this year focused on emphasizing the connection between three categories: art, technology and business. Various speakers spoke about how technology is constantly changing how businesses conduct their day to day operations to how they keep employees engaged. Other speakers focused on how to utilize art and technology to further your business’s message.
Below are three takeaways on why businesses should incorporate art and technology:
- If your business is mainly focused on technology and hard data, using the power of storytelling through art including visuals and music can help connect your audience to a technology in a way they can relate and understand. Storytelling finds the humanity within that complex technology and helps people connect by speaking a familiar language.
- Art makes technology emotional. When your audience feels connected to your product or service it makes all the difference. Appealing to the consumer’s pathos will elevate your business strategy whether that be to secure clients or increase sales.
- Connecting art and technology within a business allows talented employees to combine passions and think outside the box, which in turn creates a work environment they thrive in and are more likely to stay for a longer period of time.
